DEOs: DOVE and NIVEA, A Comparative Review

Okay sweeties, this is a rather short but sweet review or comparison of Dove Whitening Original Anti-Perspirant Deodorant and Nivea Anti-Perspirant Whitening (Yellow) in roll-on forms.

I used 25 ml Dove for 1 month til it was empty then Nivea 50 ml for 2 months til it was empty. I got the Dove as a sample during their FB promo (claimed in Bayo Clothing stores)  while Nivea was at 50% off when I bought it (smaller bottle was out of stock then). Nothin' like a good sale and promos, you know.

Dove Whitening Original Deodorant, Nivea Anti-Perspirant Whitening, review

My experience:

Scent- Both are ok for me though I prefer Nivea's just a bit more
Whitening- Same (Did not notice any difference as my underarms are white)
Removal of light brown line- Same (That is my problem, the fold, like in the bend at the back of knees/elbows. It did not disappear.)
Minimization of chicken skin- Same (Both products did not improve it.)
Protection from sweat and odor- Same (Impressed with both; smelled okay til the next day even with once a day application.) Magic word to look for- 48h!

Ingredients: Dove deo top, Nivea deo bottom.

deo, dove, nivea, price, made in, ingredients,

Country manufactured in and  Price: Dove (Philippines) 25ml for Php 47.85, 40ml for 85.15. Nivea (Thailand) 25ml for 45.50, 50ml for Php 80.90. (Price may vary, depends per store)

Nature-derived extracts/Vitamins: Dove has Vit E, licorice and sunflower. Nivea has Vit. C, licorice, avocado and pearl.

So many chemical jargons here I have to Google them, hahaha! They have a few natural stuff going on but they are not organic. Going to the basics, both contain alum and perfume, but not parabens which are linked to cancer. Alcohol, on the other hand, is said to dry the skin.

Which of the two will I buy again?
Any. Both are great. Though I admit I will remember Dove's generosity in giving out freebies to the end users.

Korea’s LG Sakers to battle PH’s Barangay Ginebra in ASIAN BASKETBALL SHOWDOWN-pr

Yes, Filipinos are cray-cray for Koreanovelas, K-Pop, Korean food, and now...  Korean basketball stars are visiting us!!! Read on to find out more :)

Korea’s LG Sakers to battle PH’s Barangay Ginebra in ASIAN BASKETBALL SHOWDOWN

LG Electronics presents PH’s first of its kind basketball match in cooperation with KBL and PBA

MANILA, August 19, 2014 – Filipino and South Korean cagers had been pitted against each other in international basketball tournaments, especially in the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Asian Championships, where Korea thwarted the bid of the Filipino contingent to enter the World Cup several times.

That is, until last year when the Philippines demolished the Korean squad and secured the country’s spot in the FIBA World Championship this August.

To celebrate this arch rivalry between the two countries, LG Electronics presents a first of its kind basketball game in the Philippines dubbed the Asian Basketball Showdown.

In this historic event, LG will be bringing to the Philippines one of South Korea’s top basketball teams, the Changwon LG Sakers, to have a basketball match with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) cagers Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The Asian Basketball Showdown is slated on September 9, 2014, Tuesday, 6:00 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

South Korea vs. the Philippines

South Korea’s seasoned champions, the LG Sakers leads the attendance rankings in eight out of 10 seasons of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). It is the team supported by LG Electronics which is headquartered in the city of Changwon in Gyeongsang.

Playing against the LG Sakers and representing the Philippines in the Asian Basketball Showdown is one of the pioneering teams in  PBA history—the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. Emerging as one of the most popular teams among Filipinos, the team currently holds eight PBA titles and has become one of the all-time fan favorites.

LG Electronics Philippines managing director Mr. Sung Woo Nam said, “This is history in the making. We are treating Filipinos to a one-of-a-kind opportunity to witness firsthand the excitement of watching Korean and Filipino cagers clash at the hard court.”

He continued, “LG, as a consumer-centric company, delivers experiences like this that make our consumers say – as conveyed by our mantra – Life’s Good.”

Basketball for all

The Philippines is a full-blooded basketball country, as such, LG is opening the event to interested individuals all for free. To get two (2) free tickets, simply register via the registration app in facebook.com/LGPhilippines or go to bit.ly/lgsakers.
Customers who buy any LG products are entitled to two (2) premium seats at the Patron section. After the purchase, consumers must register via the same Facebook App.

Attendees of the event will also get a chance to win the newest premium LG products including the simplest yet smartest LG G3, the young and pop LG G Pad—your launch pad, and the sleek, always on Android Wear LG G Watch.

For those who register via the Facebook app, claiming of tickets will be on September 9, 2014, 9:00 AM onwards at the LG Electronics booths located at the Red and Green gates of the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Those who avail of the free tickets must present the e-ticket and one valid ID, while the LG customers who register for Patron seats tickets must bring the sales invoice/official receipt of the product purchased, along with the e-ticket and one valid ID.

If the registrant will be giving the tickets to another person, the ticket receiver should bring an authorization letter from the registrant, along with the abovementioned documents.

Registration period is from August 20 to September 9, 2014. Claiming of tickets is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets may vary depending on the availability of the seats.

Nail Cocktales in Blue Bay Walk-feature

Just when you thought ladies' bonding time over prettifying themselves couldn't get any better, along comes Nail Cocktales!

nail cocktales bluebay walk

I have heard about and passed by their Timog (main) branch before,  but I was not really aware that they offer cocktails so I was lucky to have been invited to review their nail spa last August 18, 2014, 1:00 PM.
They opened just March this year.

Comfy Princess chairs! Even outside, as I was approaching, I liked the interior design of the place. They achieved the simple yet elegant concept they were aiming for.

With regards to the client's safety, they sanitize tools prior to each use.

nail cocktales review

Before I had my treatment done, I was given an iced tea by their courteous and friendly staff.
As the owner pointed out, they really pay attention to the quality of service and attitude of their manpower. The personnel have job training on proper nail procedures for one month and then another one-day training on PR and how to make chika (chat) the clients.

There were quite a number of customers later in the afternoon as they had a promo on Ensogo.

I had Hale Bopp footspa with pedicure and manicure.
I love how divine my legs and feet felt after the soaking, scrub and massage. Hale Bopp focuses on tired, dry feet and has a scrumptious scent!

One can choose their preferred varnish among these brands- Innisfree, Skin Food, Misa, Sweet Color, Morgan Taylor,  Orly, Essie, BK, Zoya, and gel type Cuccio.

This is Ruby Wing Color Changing Polish. (In Gypsy? I am not sure because the sticker at the bottom with its shade name had been removed.)

My pedicure could not get any better with luxury brand Chanel in 583 Taboo which is really long lasting. (Add Php 150 for high-end polish.) The colors I chose seem to make my skin whiter!

I also tried their depileve wax for the legs. Yes, hot waxing does not go without a little discomfort, but since I am already used to it, it is not very painful for me anymore.

RRRRIP!!!.... Ouch!!! Good thing the jazz music kind of calmed me.

And, if one chooses to go there with a guy, your better half will not be bored out. They have Free Wi-Fi. He can also have treatments specifically for guys or their signature cocktails (designed by bartender Nico from Carribean) for the men. They also have treatments for the kids aka little princesses!

Aside from mentioned hand and foot care and hair removal, their other services include paraffin treatment, massage, party packages and they offer gift cards.

Marriott Hotel Manila appoints new executives as expansion moves in full swing- pr

Hi guys!
Here's two ladies on top! And watch out for the Marriott Grand Ballroom opening soon!

Marriott Hotel Manila announces the appointment of two key executives in the company as it continues to strengthen its market position in the events and hospitality industry with the upcoming Marriott Grand Ballroom and 228 additional rooms at the west wing. Marcia Garza joins the hotel’s team as the new Director of Human Resources, while Kate Ona assumes the newly created position of Director of Revenue Strategy.

Marcia Garza, Kate Ona, marriott hotel manila

Amid the optimistic economic performance of the Philippines, especially in the tourism front, Marriott Hotel Manila’s expansion includes building the country's largest hotel convention center as well as increasing its room count to 570. Marriott Grand Ballroom is a strategic addition to the country’s event facilities as the Philippines prepares to host a series of prestigious international events between 2015 and 2017. Next year, the country will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings.

The development includes the important task of recruiting more than 200 regular employees to deliver the hotel's renowned service. To handle the task of recruitment and training employees, as well as make sure the entire organization is able to surpass guest expectations, the hotel has chosen a former member of the Marriott International team, Marcia Garza, to lead the Human Resources Department.

Marcia brings with her an invaluable practical understanding of the Marriott organization, having come from a 12-year stint in one of the group’s former hotels, Renaissance Makati. Prior to her new appointment, she was a senior HR manager of SMX Convention Center. Her knowledge of the Manila market, pre-opening experience, and cross-functional background in the hotel industry will support the hotel's success in implementing its development plan. She will also ensure that the hotel lives up to the brand's commitment to its employees. Marriott International is considered by Fortune magazine as among the 100 Best Companies to Work for (No. 57) in its 2014 list, among other recognitions for its corporate reputation.

Meanwhile, Kate Ona has been promoted to the newly created position Director of Revenue Strategy from her former position of Director of Revenue Management. As the hotel adds more income-generating space, the post was created to expand the revenue discipline and thereby broaden the scope and analysis and strategic planning involved in this area. Kate is a pride of the company for implementing revenue strategies that made Marriott Hotel Manila among the hotel chain’s best performers in Southeast Asia. She will not only be responsible for maximizing revenues in Manila but will also take on oversight of future projects within the Philippines and continuing task forces throughout the region.

The hotel is set to unveil the Marriott Grand Ballroom in the first quarter of next year. Meanwhile, the opening of the additional rooms will follow shortly. To know more about Marriott Hotel Manila, visit www.marriott.com/mnlap, or follow facebook.com/marriotthotelmanila and Twitter @marriottmanila.

3 Ayos reasons why Pinoys are modern heroes-pr

August is Buwan ng Wika (National Language Month for the Philippines), August 21 is Ninoy Aquino Day and August 25 is National Heroes Day.

I am sure you have an idea that many Pinoys- like teachers, soldiers, OFWs etc are our modern heroes. One need not shed blood to be a hero. Being patriotic and nationalistic, doing what is best for our homeland and countrymen can make one a hero.

Check out this post from Ayos Dito and be inspired-

ayosdito.ph, hero, survey

What does it mean to be a hero for you? For each person, the idea of being a hero can change. But heroism doesn’t always involve having to risk your life for your country. Sometimes, it springs from the simplest forms of kindness and ingenuity!Butinalang, maraminiyanangmgaPinoy! (Good thing, Filipinos have heaps of that)

This month, as our nation commemorates heroes of all forms, let’s look at 3 Ayos reasons why even regular Pinoys (you, me, anyone!) deserve bragging rights to be called a modern hero:

1. Filipinos are happy spirits.
When was the last time you shared a hearty laugh with a friend? Believe it or not, that tender moment may have turned a day around.
It truly is more fun in the Philippines where as a nation, we comprise of people who just loves to live from the lighter side of life. When the times get rough, you can expect someone to make you laugh with a joke, an advice, or even a song! Always remember that a smile is powerful. Wear it, feel good with it, and next thing you know, someone else is better because you shared a smile with them.
2. Filipinos are accommodating.
Ever got hit by the “I just need someone to talk to” bug; where unloading some thoughts and feelings to a confidante is enough to make your feel better? You’re not alone in that. Fortunately, Filipinos are easily open to listen, even welcome you to their homes when you just need to feel like you’re not alone.
3.Filipinos give life a second chance.
Despite the tragedies that hit the country, it is part of the Filipino to continue to rise up and try again. Sometimes, this even extends to how they treat the stuff they have lying around the house. Clothes, toys, and hobby items that Pinoys once loved, end up finding a renewed purpose when sold online.

True enough, more and more Filipinos have embraced the idea of online buy and sell through AyosDito.ph, a free online classifieds website. In fact, during a 12-month period from May 2013 to May 2014, AyosDito.ph soared with a 177% increase in number of ads posted on its platform.

AyosDito.ph, a leading online classifieds portal and key player in driving consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce in the country, is part of a global network of online classifieds sites in more than 30 countries. Since the start of its operations in 2009, the company has fielded a dedicated staff of ad reviewers to check the legitimacy of ads and thus provide a higher quality of experiences on the site.

The ease and speed of transactions is among the advantages and benefits of online buying and selling, often surpassing the features of traditional commerce. It is even a common experience for an AyosDito seller to post an ad online one day, and have it sold within a day or two--or even within the same day!

With these simple ways of being a hero, you have no excuse to not make each day matter. Be a modern hero today. Smile, listen, and give your pre-loved items a second chance when you post free ads on AyosDito.ph.

ayos dito, free ads, real people, real deals

A Night of Fun With Philip

Hi sweeties!
I feel happy to have been invited to an event with the people behind Fun with Philip as I have been watching the show "It's More Fun With Philip" and "Philip Lifestyle Guy" before in its previous network.

This tradition continues now in the new show as they give letter-senders a chance to experience the food, beauty treatments, fitness regimens, etc featured on the program.
As Philip shares, "I've always maintained that lifestyle should not just be aspirational but more importantly, it should inspire people to live their lives in style, no matter what circumstance you are in."

AQUAQUEST GEARS UP FOR PROVINCIAL EXPANSION- pr

"GQWEST Inc announced plans to expand its Aquaquest water refilling franchise outside Metro Manila as part of its plans to drive growth.

A sister brand of Aquabest, the country’s premier water franchise and with over a hundred stores, Aquaquest is set to grow in rural areas where potable water access remains an issue. The company’s CEO, Carson Tan, sees tremendous potential in areas outside Manila, which have begun to see rapid development and urbanization. “With the Metro Manila water refilling market getting ever more competitive it would be more practical to look at other areas where opportunities are great and competition isn't as fierce.”

A single Aquaquest store can offer three different types of water: purified, mineral, and alkaline. While the purified water is the staple product of the store, the mineral and alkaline types of water would appeal most to people who have specific medical needs or those who need water as a health supplement.

aquaquest, water, tanwing

More than just providing its franchisees and consumers with more options, the franchise also offers its franchisees a faster return period due to increased sales brought about by the 3-in-1 concept of the enterprise. This triples their opportunities and chances for success with just a single store.

Apart from its flexible marketing options, acquiring an Aquaquest franchise is now made easier due to the financing options offered by GQWEST. Franchisees can also take advantage of the company’s tie-ups with institutions like BPI Family Savings Bank to help secure a Ka-Negosyo loan package for their franchise. The company also offers excellent after-sales support with a store opening package, local marketing and technical support.

Further, with the company’s Green-Mindset advocacy, the Aquaquest water store may be bundled with a Laundryquest store to conserve water and increase the store's income."

See The Real Me with Johnson&Johnson

From my teen years, I use Johnson & Johnson products. So I am excited about their Teen-powerment campaign. I wish I attended one back in the day.

The first of initially a target of 300 teen-powerment programs- aimed to promote confidence and courage among teens to show their real selves- was held in Makati High School (located in the corner Gen. Luna & JD Villena Sts., near Rockwell Drive, Poblacion, Makati City) last July 30, 2014, 10:30 AM.

I have had pimples as early as 15 years old. As a result, not only was I awkward, I was also very shy. I hated looking at the mirror.

My aunt, who suffered from the same, then gave me a set (cleanser, astringent, moisturizer) of Clean&Clear. It was either the first or second anti-acne medication I had ever used. I also tried Clean&Clear face powder because it has salicylic acid to fight blemishes.

And I also had very heavy flows. I trust Modess for that. I used their ultra-slim gel pads, and their cottony soft pads are very comfortable. I also used Carefree for everyday wetness as I saw my mom always has that in her drawer.

johnson&johnson

A troubling global statistic: 75% of adolescents 13-19 years old are growing up as fearful adults. Johnson & Johnson wants teens to understand that menstruation, odor and wetness, oiliness and pimples are not hindrances but a milestone for this new chapter in their lives.

This campaign bravely challenges the marketing philosophy that to sell one's products, self-confidence must be sacrificed. When in fact, teens' bodily changes aren't a taboo but should rather a celebration- a signal to show the world who they are, and what they have to offer. This is a time to share their thoughts and ideas, have fun, participate in socio-civic activities that drive personal progress and development.

There was talk from officials. We were taught the correct way to eat Cadbury Chocolate!

1. RIP the exquisite royal purple and gold packaging. See the perfectly shaped mounds of chocolate with a smooth satin shine. The look of delicious chocolate. Smell the aroma. Imagine what it would taste like –and you know it will be good too.
2. Then you BITE into it. Listen for that satisfying snap.
3. Here comes the most awaited part: You savor it and let it MMM-Melt. Don’t ruin the experience by chewing and swallowing immediately. Let it roll over your tongue. Delight as the creamy taste washes over your mouth.
4. Then you ENJOY by repeating the ritual: Bite and MMM-Melt, Bite and MMM-Melt. Until the world MMM-Melts around you and you remember that all good things in life must really be savored.
