GoodAh!!! Unveils Revolutionary KKK

goodah!!! baclaran, boy abunda,

Hello po!
Every Sunday, there would be a number of pop up tables/ booths around our neighborhood selling Kare-Kare. It is a well-loved dish evidenced by the throngs of people lining up to fill their bowl (or plastic bag) of Kare-Kare to bring home to loved ones.

However, their version of Kare-Kare is 'pwede na pagtiyagaan'  since pamurahan ang labanan ditey. I myself am quite scared to cook this because the preparation looks tedious. And if I did not manage to produce the proper taste, it would definitely be a waste.

Now, we do not need to wait for Sunday and there is always great tasting Kare-Kare with  GoodAh!!!'s newest treat- the yummy KKK or Krispy Kare Kare! KKK brings to mind a revolution, much like this dish!

The twist lies in the gamey ox tripe or tuwalya. It is usually slow cooked in a pot or pressure cooker, but if not done properly, it can be tough to chew, right? Now what GoodAh!!! did is to fry it for an extra crispy texture, which lends a complementing contrast to the softness of the flanks and richness of the sauce.

GoodAh!!!'s Krispy Kare Kare uses these classic ingredients- ground peanuts for that rich and earthy sauce, string beans, eggplant, pechay, puso ng saging, soft and juicy beef flanks, sauteed shrimp paste plus the surprise that is fried ox tripe

A large bowl of GoodAh!!!'s Krispy Kare Kare uses these classic ingredients- ground peanuts for that rich and earthy sauce, string beans, eggplant, pechay, puso ng saging, soft and juicy beef flanks, sauteed shrimp paste plus the surprise that is fried ox tripe for that added dimension to its play of flavors.

When our palates were treated to this sumptuous dish- everyone seated at the table agreed it was very delicious and the mixture of flavors are really balanced and complements each other. The veggies are also fresh, crisp and not soggy/ overly cooked.

We also tried their other bestsellers and we were convinced that GoodAh!!! very much lives up to its moniker. The food is really good, ha! Our drink was the red iced tea which is also pleasant tasting.

GoodAh!!!'s sinfully indulgent Crispy Pata. Buti na lang me atchara (gulay yun!) hehehe! The Crispy Pata with trio dip family set good for 4  is yours for just Php 699!

GoodAh!!! Barbeque Chicken- their marinate suits the Pinoy taste. It has the sweetness that is nanunuot inside the meat. It is priced at Php 119 for paa and Php 124 for pecho.

GoodAh!!! Tapa is also very flavorful and soft, with choice beef strips. The price of a Tapsilog is Php 114.

The finale is the cool and sweet halo-halo- it has fine ice, milk, kaong, mongo, sago, gulaman, saba (banana), cheese, choco stick; but I think that it would be perfect if the size of its leche flan and ube were bigger. Nonetheless, it is truly refreshing. It costs Php 59.

The launch of the newest dish is held simultaneous to the Grand Opening of GoodAh!!! Baclaran. This is their first franchise.

Happy 80th Birthday Chan Lim!!!

Hello po!
Last January 15, 2017 was my second time to attend a Chan Lim Art Exhibit Grand Launch. My first one was held in the same mall last year. You may read about it HERE.

Last January 15, 2017 was my second time to attend a Chan Lim Art Exhibit Grand Launch .

Last 2016, we admired artworks on lanterns, this time the medium is porcelain plates and scrolls. This year's exhibit is bigger, with more than 300 displays by 43 talented artists.

The program started with a calligraphy workshop.

Wow! How lucky is our table that the Master himself would drop by to teach us. He looks very serious as he is drawing a plum.

chan lim, sm north edsa,

Dr. Alex Chan Lim showed us his painting talent. He made it look super easy. This is an orchid.

This is a landscape painting. Dr. Alex Chan Lim worked quite fast during the live demo, otherwise, as he said, the audience would get bored. He also advised that if you make a mistake, let it be since nobody noticed too- you see, there was no prior pencil sketch and he just imagined in his mind.

live demo painting, orchid, landscape,

There were also video presentations from his loved ones. Setting up this art exhibit had taken a lot of resources and a year of planning. This is the family's way of giving back to the community. And they will continue to do this for as long as there are people supporting this endeavour.

A very auspicious milestone in Chinese culture indeed, because this 2017, Ang Kong Chan Lim is celebrating his 80th birthday ALL year long! All of the eight exhibits will be specially themed to celebrate this felicitous family event!

Then there were speeches from the officials and Chan Lim family members.

A very good family friend of theirs, Robin Padilla, made a surprise appearance as a gesture of his support. He had been gracing Chan Lim events for 3 years now. They had only nice words to say about "The Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema", whom they said is very humble and helpful too.

Idol Binoy gamely had his picture taken with everyone. He was even the one who held the camera. Of course, kunin ko na ang opportunity! Thanks Rizza G. for capturing! My other shot is in my FB.

stART Hope Anew This Year!

Hello po!
Having attended a number of advocacy blogcons, I can say one must cover not for the remuneration they will give. Because there is far greater to be had- and that is knowing that as a blogger, you have helped to disseminate information for a worthy cause.

Such is this Start Hope project that shall be held a few days from now- January 7, 2017 in Kanto Artist-Run Space, 2/F  Makati Cinema Square, to be exact. Programs start around 3 pm, and will showcase the featured artists, seasoned performers, homeschool talents and more. The exhibit will run til January 26.

What is stART Hope?

Start Hope is the FIRST art exhibit of its kind, in the sense that it was purely curated by homeschoolers! The homeschooled students came up with the idea and around 50 (Grades 4 to 8) of them has united their efforts in the pursuit of hope, peace and change for the next generation.

The kids were fully involved in this project- from proposing to sponsors to collaborating with the media, etc., with their teachers lending support.

Homeschoolers

The original Homeschool @ The Fort, which is an organized community of homeschoolers that provide fun and engaging classes for homeschoolers has expanded into two more communities- Homeschool @ Alabang and Homeschool @ Valle Verde. These are the places to go to if you want to join a playgroup, co-op, or a homeschooling support group. Feel free to choose which one is near you.

For three years now, their Communication and Collaboration class (formerly called Projects and Presentations) is held with the aim of supplementing the learning experiences of homeschooled independent learners by giving them an avenue to work in different group/class settings.

stART Hope is one of the collaborated projects of the class’ SY 2016-2017 students through the guidance and inspiration of their teachers, Jana Tupas and Owie dela Cruz, co-owners of education-travel blog, School in a Backpack.

The main beneficiary is Nice So, as well as the children of WALK or Wishes of Aid and Limbs for Kids Inc.(a non-stock, non-profit organization, among the Rotary Club of Makati Forbes Park District 3830's projects).

The Artists

  • Nice So- the main beneficiary of the event, an artist who was diagnosed with the incurable disease of lupus when she was in grade school. While in the hospital, she discovered her innate artistic talents and has been painting and selling her artworks to pay for her medical necessities as well as to help other kids with lupus and other incurable diseases.
  • Niño Hernandez- an international and local contemporary artist, and an art teacher in the homeschool community.
  • Ginger de Guia- a professional calligraphist who "colors for a purpose". Also an art teacher in the homeschool community.
  • Waby Liberia- homeschooled until her senior high, and now incoming college student pursuing arts management, this budding artist will make her debut in the art scene through stART hope.

The media launch held last December 3 at The Crafter's Marketplace, Rustan's Edsa Shangri-la,  was very informative; as being a purely private school educated lass (from Kinder to College), I am not very familiar with regards to homeschooling. I found out that day, a child can be homeschooled from 5 years old up to Grade 10.

As I get to meet the kids, I am amazed at how smart they are! The quality of education they get is indeed high!
